About the Focus Jam² SL 8.7
Imagine darting around a forest trail, zig-zagging through a tight S-bend, flying down a sharp gradient completely unimpeded by the surprises the mud and tree roots have to offer. This is what you're going to get with a bike like the Focus Jam² SL 8.7.
With its lightweight carbon frame, the agility of the bike is a level above its aluminium frame competitors. The weight is also kept down with the Fazua 60 motor, which is an unbelievably small motor unit given how much power you get from it.
While you might think that having less power than a Bosch CX or Yamaha PW-ST motor would hold this bike back, it doesn't, thanks to the lightness of the frame. The effect is that it feels extremely close to your beloved non-electric MTB that you've been riding for years...just much more powerful.
The frame geometry allows good ground clearance but also a lower stepover height so you've got a lot of room to move.
Everything on this bike is well integrated into the frame, so it feels like a 'pure' MTB. The ring controller (to change power levels) on the handlebars is unobtrusive, the motor and battery are within the frame, and the rear shock is also neatly tucked under the top tube.
Other features you'll like are the dropper seat post and SRAM 12-speed gears.
Summary: This is proper mountain biking electrified. The Fazua 60 motor is a game changer for lightweight eMTBs.
