About the Lapierre e-Explorer 6.5
What's special about the e-Explorer 6.5 is that it sits between the popular trekking style of electric bike and the super-desirable full-suspension electric bikes, but without the full-sus price tag.
Rather than having smooth tyres (like the Haibikes for instance), the e-Explorer 6.5 has knobbly tyres which give you a good amount of confidence when you're off-road.
Suspension
The bike also has suspension in the seat post as well as a suspension fork on the front for extra comfort. So, even if the travel in the suspension isn't quite as generous as a full-suspension mountain bike, it still feels luxurious to have some give underneath the saddle as you're riding along.
Real Trekking
What you have here is a trekkers' trekking bike: suspension front and back, rugged tyres, mudguards, light and rack and decent MTB geometry on the frame. It's not a commuter e-bike pretending to have off-road ability.
Summary: An excellent value for riding on the growing number of forest biking trails, and off-road green spaces.
